Translating traditional practices within a western medical framework is tough, nion impossible. This article looks at what we are trying to achieve when using a rebozo for labour, birth and beyond: is it for comfort, distraction or progress. And in turn why we need or don't need evidence always to back up those intentions, why established traditions can be trusted.
